Like most smaller companies, the extent to which we can deliver high impact Corporate Social Responsibility is limited. However, we have made a concerted effort to take the environment into consideration within our business, including the introduction of two new policies within the past 12 months.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

CSR refers to the way in which businesses regulate themselves in order to ensure that all of their activities positively affect society as a whole. CSR policies aim to guarantee that companies work ethically, considering human rights as well as the social, economic and environmental impacts of what they do as a business. Businesses should meet, and aim to exceed, any relevant legislation, and if legislation does not exist in a particular area, the company should ensure they carry out best practices anyway.

At Valour Consultancy, we are committed to ensuring that any business undertakings are conducted as ethically as possible by following the below policy.

Looking after Employees

We are proud of our extremely high staff retention rates, reflective of the loyal and productive Valour Consultancy culture. Wherever possible, we look to support the personal development of our team through regular appraisals, ad hoc training and knowledge sharing sessions, and the ability to regularly attend industry conferences and exhibitions. Several analysts have made their ‘event speaker’ debuts during their time at the company.

In response to Covid-19, where several members of our team suffered from reduced social interactions, we introduced a co-working policy. This grants a monthly budget to all employees to access a shared office or co-working space, should they wish to use one.

Regular and effective internal communication is a vital pillar to our success. While our team are all working remotely, in several corners of the globe, the entire group meets on a weekly basis. We also organise regular social and team-building activities, both online and in person.

Looking after Customers

We recognise the importance of looking after our customers, to make sure they have a positive and lasting impression of our business.

With a focus on customer satisfaction and retention, we recently introduced a new role dedicated to account management and business development. This helps to obtain direct feedback on the quality of our products and services, allowing us to adjust and improve future offerings.

We communicate with customers throughout the research phase of all syndicated reports. Then, after each study is published, we offer an exclusive webinar to participants outlining a top-level summary of key findings. This also facilitates a direct Q&A session. Dedicated 1-2-1 support is available for assistance on further queries.

Suppliers’ Standards

Due to the nature of our business, we infrequently interact with suppliers. However, where needs do arise, we are committed to paying them properly and on time. Where appropriate and viable, we choose to support other small businesses based nearby to our office locations.

Community Engagement

As a company, we are committed to support charities close to our hearts. Our team frequently supports fundraising efforts through direct participation or monetary contributions.

Recent examples include a ‘Duathlon of Pain’ and long-distance cycling challenges across Europe, in support of research to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Muscular Dystrophy UK, Duchenne UK, Action Duchenne and Harrison’s Fund are some of the charities we have been able to support.

We also offer ad-hoc volunteering and paid internship opportunities to aspiring young professionals.

Environmental Policy

As market intelligence specialists in the aviation, maritime and wider mobility sectors, we are fully aware of the need for an industry-wide approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

We support and promote wider industry initiatives in our ongoing media and research coverage. Recent examples of thought-leading content on sustainability-related topics include:

At an internal company level, we have introduced a series of environmental initiatives:

  1. Energy-efficient infrastructure: Facilities at Valour Consultancy’s UK and Australian headquarters with energy-efficient lighting, heating and insulation.
  2. Commitment to renewables: We make every effort to ensure our energy needs are supplied by firms with a commitment to renewables and engage in recycling schemes.
  3. Healthy, active lifestyles: From football, to rowing, to cycling. Many of our team are keen and active athletes. Flexible working hours and remote working allow employees time to pursue hobbies and activities.
  4. Responsible transportation: Public transport is encouraged where appropriate and is always the preferred option to attend meetings and events.
  5. Paperless, or less paper: Lastly, we keep paper literature to a minimum and our reports, brochures and other marketing materials are all distributed in electronic format.
